I’ve acquired some new watercolors and since the last watercolor dump went over well, I thought I’d share them with you. Just some pretty face girls. I made some blobs and then used copic markers to add details on a few of them.

Hey All~~! I bet a lot of you are out at SPX… or maybe you are like me and wish really hard that you could be going! Anywhoo, I’ve got a new project in store. It’s going to be a ~Sketch a Day~ on here deal. Each day I’ll post a sketch (and you can even buy it if you want!). I hope to do a livestream later tonight and over the weekend I’m going to stock pile up a bunch of sketches to get started!

More Adventure Time as historically famous paintings that I saw at the Met! Today is inspired by Le déjeuner sur l’herbe by Édouard Manet. The painting is famous for shocking a whole lot of French people when it debuted and scholarly people still like to debate about it too. There is something a bit weird and disconcerting about a voluptuous woman starring directly at you from a painting next to two clothed people. But I think sometimes art is awesome when it makes you uncomfortable…

Hey welcome to day 13, I’ma let you finish, but you didn’t think I’d forget the most famous painting of all time! Here she is- Lumpy Space Princess as Leonardo da Vinci’s very own, Mona Lisa. We all know that this painting is really about secret alien communication, right? It’s the trees… they are a code.

The 14th day is here! I had a bunch of requests today and I’ll get to them all in the next few days, but for now, first up is Miss Endy (aka @ochentiocho ) Her request was “I want to see a sketch of the OC nearest and dearest to your heart. “ And right now my most dearest OC is Stana from Ode. If you know me, you might have guessed that my dearest OC is a hot guy with wings (and well.. we all know I have a soft spot for that type). However, I’ve been working with Tim all summer on Ode. And though you guys haven’t seen a whole lot of it (YET!!), I assure you a TON of amazing is coming. Stana is a badass knight in a time where chivalry and magic are fading from the world. She’s a stong and cool female character and I say that knowing that Ode isn’t just another wishy washy sword and sorcery tale with big boobs. This character is really coming alive for me, and I think next month you’ll find that she is for you too! (ahhh I hope!!)

Hey it’s sketch a day 15! Today features Marceline and Princess Bubblegum as the lovers in the painting “The Kiss” by Gustov Klimt. It’s a really neat painting- there are influences from Art Noveau, the Arts and Crafts movement, and elements of modern and classical all thrown in a blender. Klimt was a symbolist painter and also something of a horndog, but for as much as art history teachers like to point out the phalic-ness of this painting, it’s also just very beautiful and sweet. I like to think it fits the Vampire Queen and Princess Bubblegum- a sweet darling moment before a rush of ‘adorbs’.

Today, being the 16th day, I was talking to my b/f about Game of Thrones. Of all the characters, my favorite two are Arya Stark and Jon Snow. Granted I’ve only watched the TV show (unlike all my friends who have read or are currently reading the books). I just can’t live in a world where the hotness that is Jon Snow is only 14.

Man was today ever one of those days where nothing goes right. This updates is down to the last half hour of the day, but anywhoo it did happen! Earlier today, Miss Amanda Propaganda aka @panditty requested Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon fame. Now they aren’t my favorite scouts (that honor goes out to Mars, Pluto & Venus), but they are the coolest “cousins” to ever hit shoujo. Here is a super girly version… with real angsty ripped paper!
