I whipped this up in 10 minutes from a big piece of cardboard. It’s 4 feet (ish) and made from charcoal, India Ink and a bamboo brush. I’m not sure what to do with it, it was a giant sketch on a whim. I think I’m going to put it somewhere in NYC and see if it gets picked up (or thrown out haha)
It’s a Deva from Tim & my upcoming comic, ODE.
Heyo! Sketch a day #40 is a creepy one. It doesn’t often happen, but I had a moment the other night where I was like major compelled to draw this. As I’m working on Ode, I realized that I have to get into drawing not just my favorite pretty Deva, but there will also be evil, dark, and super macabre ones as well. So here we are! Today is a bit late as far as updates go but that’s because I got lost on the subway on my way back from Brooklyn.. eep! Ah well I made it back in one piece.

Sketch a Day #53 is an original evolving character of mine- a Deva. She’s part fairy, geisha, and other worldly kami. In the story that Tim and I are working on, (Ode), there are are all kinds of devas besides the main chick, so I’ve been doodling a lot of examples for lesser and major kinds of devas. As Tim writes them, they don’t even necessarily have to take the form of a super pretty chick- I just like drawing them like this (hehe). I’ve got a video of this process I’ll post on Monday-ish so look out for that. For this one I used a mix of ink, watercolor and some copic markers on a rough 140lb cold press watercolor paper.

Happy Tutorial Tuesday on this the 58th sketch a day! Today I drew my Deva character from Ode with Copic Markers. This tutorial takes you through everything from paper to sketch, inking and how to color Copic Markers to achieve watercolor-esque blending. LINK to video tutorial, or check it out below.

Today is a busy day, but here’s a little quick ink sketch of an unknown Deva OC of mine… I’m having problems uploading videos on the interwebs, so hopefully that will be resolved today so I can post yesterday’s process vids.

Hiya! So I’m *almost* ready to show my kick-starter. I’m working on the video 2morrow! In the meanwhile here are some pencil sketches for that comic I keep talking about, Ode. Tim already wrote all of it, I’m just trying to get all my affairs in order so I can power through and draw it.
