Mummies terrify me… not unlike finally getting a webcomic together…

The above happened when I took Tim out for his bday…. I still think it would have been fun to get the free cake and clapping… >_>;;
Also… I can’t tone for sh*t… so I’ve been trying to make up for it with color… badly. Maybe it will get better. I think the strawberryz look yummy. I’m such a strawberry fiend. @__@~
Omg I want one!!! This may have to be a charter in my comic… a reaction to all those other people and their ponies….

Ach! Today has just been one of those days. Every time I try to get something done, something else happens. I’m working on 4 new comics that I’ll space out this week hehe. I know it’s been a bunch of semi-autobiographical stuff, but that seems to be the funny stuff going on in my life.
I’m also getting ready for the WNY Small Press Expo! It’s going to be a blast
I’m going with Kings of Honey & the Whirlwind fame. I’m making a ton of awesome buttons and there will also be some free squid salad buttons up for grabs… so if you’re going to be in Buffalo on the 19th, be sure to stop by and check it out!
JoJo is the coolest person I know. This comic is pretty much a testament to her awesomeness. Before I knew what bistros were, I asked her and she had a way cool reply. The colors turned out SUPER bright on the web… not too sure why as they are pretty retro lookin’ in my photoshop. Erp….
Oh man… today has been crazy. I went on the most wild goose chase for the illusive Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. Joe Hunter told me about it, and I’ve been dying to use a brush *pen*. Both he and Yuko of Johnny Wander fame have been known to use it like the crazy amazing artists that they are.
I’ve had Copic, Sakura, and Faber Castell brush pen/markers, but I’ve always really liked using traditional brushes. The thing is, I never had a small enough one to use for comicking.. UNTIL NOW!~
Ok so long story short, the evil art store monoploy in Buffalo gave me the run around ALL DAY- “no we dont have them” “oh we do at the store an hour away from you” “oh I told you the wrong thing I just shipped them to Rochester while you were driving” “oh there is one back at the store you first called where you drove from”… FUUUUU!!!
So finally I found one. And then, of course I gave it to Tim (b/c he was awesome and drove me all over looking for it and he actually needs it for Honey & the Whirlwind more than I do). So currently, mine is on order from the Rochester and in the meanwhile, I got a Pentel Black #101 brush pen and it’s very cool. I’m not good at it yet, but I did these doodles on rice paper (which is waaay more absorbant than my moleskin sketchbook or Bleed Proof Paris pen & ink paper)…
Doodles: MFawwnnnyyy , an elf miko?, and me..?
If you follow me anywhere else on the interwebs, then you’ve ‘prolly already seen my posts, but I feel it bears repeating.
Please Pray/well wish/do something to help for Japan and everyone who is affected by the earthquake. Donate to the Red Cross if you can http://www.redcrossblood.org! I’m going with Tim tomorrow to donate blood (I’m out a car today
)
Licchan posted an excellent journal with resources here: link
Also my friend Phil (of Aborted Creativity fame) hasn’t been able to get in contact with his sister in Sendai, so let’s send some special prayers/wishes his way!Has finally heard form his sister! She is safe and at a shelter. let’s hope for more amazing stores like this!

Dear everyone in Japan;
Please stay strong against
the earthquakes and tsunamis.
The whole world is praying
for your safety.

Woah! A Huge thanks to Artvoice for the amazing feature on the upcoming Buffalo Small Press Book Fair in which they feature not only myself, but my partner in crime, Tim Ferrara and his fantastic comic- Honey & the Whirlwind. Also a shout-out is due for French Press, as it’s where I made the excellent letterpress Squid Salad poster, used in my new comic (link) You may recall the earlier photos from my entry, here.
Thanks to Everyone who came out to see Tim & me at the Buffalo Small Press Book Fair 2011! It was such a blast. I know I was only selling buttons, but the positive response was overwhelming!!!! I’ll be adding a lot of new stuff to the shop tomorrow! Tim also did well- everyone loved his comic, Honey & the Whirlwind. It’s an amazing feeling to be in my hometown and receive positive feedback!
I was really upset this morning because the bookmarks I had ordered as business cards didn’t come in time, so I was giving out xeroxed flyers made at Kinkos in the early morning. In the end, though, it seemed people really liked them. I know the flyers were crude, but I think they actually worked and were cool. So if you are reading this from the fair- HELLO~ & welcome! .. also enjoy the ride~!!
